There is no shortage of video games set in space. In 2021 we need to hit the marketplace with a number of exciting headlines that are worth checking out. Even if Kerbal Space Program 2 and Colisto Protocol are released next year, 2022, here are some of the new space games we’ve been expecting this year.
# 10 Elite Dangerous: Odyssey
Elite Dangerous has been a space flight simulation game since 2014. The title focuses on space trading and warfare in this huge open-world and open-ended video game. Developed by Frontier Development, this title is still actively enjoyed by a large community. This is partly due to the fact that the game is supported by more content for players to enjoy with the DLC that came this year called Odyssey.
Odyssey is a great extension because it gives players the ability to land on new planets and explore their feet. It will also bring ground missions that can get you into battle. Also, players can start meeting fellow pilots in person which should allow some new unique social hubs for players to take part. Spread to Open-Worlds as there is a launch window for spring.
# 9 is beyond good and evil 2
Custom fans expected the story to continue, it may not be, but Gond & Evil 2 has been set up as a prequel. Announced back at E3 2017, Good & Evil 2 is an action-adventure game set in an open world environment. Not much has been revealed about the game yet but we do know that the title will cast players in the role of lowly pirates who are going to work as well-known legendary pirates across the galaxy.
It’s a game that has been teasing fans for a decade now. Fans of the original installment are eager to return to the universe of this video game. Again, not much has been revealed about this game yet but it supports both single player and multiplayer. Featuring a partnership universe with this game is revealing some activities that will influence the entire universe to influence other players. For now, we’ll have to wait and see when Ubisoft decides to release more information.
# 8 Dyson Sphere Program
The Dyson Sphere program is a strategic management style video game. Players are thrown into this world where the energy of humanity is needed but not available in sufficient quantities. You took on the role of a space engineer in charge of a seemingly impossible project called Dyson Spares. The theory is that the formation of a necessary assembly that can orbit a star and gain its power.
Players will have complete control of building a factory that can not only sustain itself but also store enough energy to send it back to Earth. Of course, like other strategy games, players can research more new technologies that will help improve the factory when you try to design more efficient automated factories.
# 7 Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
There is no shortage of Lego video game titles and the next installment we are looking forward to is Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Lego has done previous Star Wars themed video games before, however, this new upcoming installment will tell the story of nine Star Wars movies. It’s going to be a long game as the development team tries to parody the story from start to finish, but this Lego title has always done well in the past.
If you haven’t played these Lego video games before, they usually take a popular franchise and provide the narrative of a toned-down kid-friendly video game. In addition to solving hack and slash style battles as well as solving one-of-a-kind puzzles, this is a frustrating story. Some memorable locations, gameplay moments and iconic characters will continue as this game will feature all the features of Star Wars movie stories.
# 6 Exo One
Exo One is a unique game on this list and it is something that is somewhat admirable to watch. This is a simple title where you control an alien craft that can change shape while moving around different planets. Players will use speed to increase speed extensively and to continue their journey across different regions. The game was originally slated to hit the marketplace in 2020 but has been delayed until 2021. However, you can now get a demo of the game via Steam.
# 5 Influence Legend Edition
The Mass Effect franchise is a hugely popular RPG series from Bioware. The installments of these first three mainline video games have been cherished by fans and are still offered to new players. However, these games came out at this time several years ago. The final installment of the Trilogy was actually released in 2012. Fortunately, we will soon have a new way to enjoy the titles of our classic video games on modern platforms.
Bioware is going back and offering fans a remastered collection version. The titles of the first three mass-impact video games are both mechanically and visually touching with new enhancements. However, don’t expect studios to make any changes to the narrative story line. You’ll still find the story of the classic mass effect with a story full of iconic characters and twists and turns. A number of interested players are ready to return to this trilogy as our crew embarks on a journey to save the universe from impending doom.
# 4 Mars: Game
Occupy Mars: The game is a simulation survival game where you are not only tasked with exploring the planet but also creating enough tools to sustain life. Here the players have to not only acquire some necessary resources for accommodation, solar panels, vehicles and mining equipment but also to supervise their livelihoods.
However, don’t expect things to go smoothly. With a day and night cycle attached, there is the constant threat that your panel equipment may not have enough energy storage to survive the cold dark nights. Likewise, when things break down, you need to figure out how to fix them so that you can get electronic components and get all the technicians like fixing the circuitry or even soldering the boards.
# 3 star citizen
Star Citizen is a game that feels like forever for After launching in 2011 and receiving the necessary funding to make headlines from Kickstarter, players have been waiting for the opportunity to play this game. Unfortunately, it has been a ride roller coaster for supporters. In Star Citizen, players will be thrown into a future universe where they can pilot their ship, search for resources, search for craft, and fight other players. Initially, the game will launch in 2014, although Cloud Imperium Games has continued to crash and delay as it continues to add new features.
Although the game is yet to be fully released on the PC platform, only Alpha Builds is available for players without any clear indication of when the full game will be released to the market. Hopefully, we got this year’s title but at the very least you can enjoy early in the title today.
# 2 Hello Infinite
Since the launch of the original Xbox video game console in the marketplace, Hello has served as the exclusive franchise for major video games for Microsoft. The fans fully embraced the Hello IPT, when the players took on the role of Master Chief to fight against foreign enemies and save humanity. Since then, video game suffrage has ended with mainstream installments, spin-offs, toys, comic books and even an upcoming television series. Fortunately, we are not fully playing these Hello games yet and it looks like we will be able to dive into our next exciting installment this year.
Originally, Hello Infinity was supposed to be launched last year. However, after the release of very rocky gameplay footage, fans took to the internet to express their frustrations over how the game looks. 343 The industry has taken it upon itself to focus on prolonging the game rather than shutting it down from release in 2020. Now it looks like we can step into the role of master chief again this year where we have to face a rogue contract group. Unlike the previous installment, players will focus more on the master chief who seems to have a few more weapons and abilities like a more powerful system.
# 1 Everspace 2
Everspace 2 will bring players new spaceship fighting RPGs. The game is about spaceships just like you were when you started the journey on a journey filled with exploration and space warfare. A good part of the game is collecting loot and entering areas that can be very difficult for anyone to pilot.
All along the way, players will meet new friends who have stories to tell everyone but it may be a little bit before we dive into this game. Currently, Everspace 2 is only about to enter the market as an Early Access title. We probably won’t see the full game and content until 2022. However, as this game prepares for an early access release on January 18, 2021, we don’t have to wait long to endure it before we try it out.
