This week’s top stories: iPad Pro rumors, the end of Adobe Flash, Apple Cars and more

At the top of this week Stories: A reliable Apple analyst casts doubt on Apple Car rumors, a new iPad Pro in Q1 2021, the end of Adobe Flash and much more. Read on for this week’s Top Apple Stories.

Apple car

Last week, we learned more about Apple’s plans to enter the self-driving electric car industry by 2025. More recently, however, reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has expressed some skepticism about that timeline.

In an investor note this week, Kuo wrote that development could begin this year and that Apple could launch the car between 2025 and 2025 if it went as planned. Instead of the rapid changes in the EV and self-driving car industry, based on Apple’s standards, Kuo said, “It’s no surprise that Apple cars won’t arrive in 2026 or later.”

2021 iPad Pro

Elsewhere this week, a report hints that Apple is set to launch a new 12.9-inch iPad Pro with Mini LED in Q1 of 2021. This first report does not indicate that the Mini LED iPad Pro is coming to Q1 in 2021, but it is consistent. The supply chain acts as a cooperative that the transition is still moving forward at the scheduled time.

History says that the new iPad Pro will probably launch towards the end of Q1 in March.

Correlium

Apple lost a significant lawsuit this week, with a Florida judge dismissing Apple’s claim that Correlium’s virtualization equipment violated copyright laws. Corelium is a security research platform that allows users to run virtualized versions of iOS on desktop computers.

IPhone for Christmas

Apple has again dominated the activity of Christmas Day smartphones in the United States, according to new data released this week. The iPhone 11 was the most popular iPhone on Christmas day, followed by the iPhone XR and the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Also notably, the iPhone 12 Mini is nowhere to be found on this year’s list, adding more fuel claiming it is a rather niche product for Apple.
