The re-boot of the unsolved mystery on Netflix investigated the mysterious Berkshire County UFO sightings near Great Barrington, Massachusetts, and Stockbridge in 19 Great9.
The Unsolved Mysteries met with the creators of Unknown Things to bring us new true life mysteries and the fifth installment revealed to fans as it tells the story of a UFO encounter in the small-town Massachusetts.
Multiple eyewitnesses saw Berkshire UFOs in 1969
What makes UFO sightings in Berkshire County stand out from other stories of close encounters is the significant number of witnesses who claim to have seen something in the night sky centered around Massachusetts.

On September 1, 1969, four separate families, who had no contact with each other, claimed that one of their UFOs had been picked up and removed by a ray of light.
Thomas (Thom) Reid was nine years old at the time of the incident and has been a vocal and prominent witness to the event ever since.

He said that while their family was driving home, they were “taken to a stigmatized notice ship where a picture of a willow tree was displayed.”
Eyewitnesses summarize the Berkshire UFO sighting
Another witness, Tom Warner, said he saw the flashing lights and ran out of the house. He said a beam of light then landed on a spaceship, where he saw 14-year-old Melania Kirchdorfer, who had already climbed into the UFO.
Warner’s story was synthesized by Kirchdorfer and his neighbor Jane Shaw, who said he disappeared for a few minutes.
Many more residents of the county claimed to have seen the bright light, and some said they were temporarily taken to a spaceship that contained other abducted children.
The county has had numerous spectacular reports since 1969, and in 2015 the Great Barrington or Historical Society even recognized Berkshire UFO sightings as a historical event.
A memorial was also erected in the town to commemorate the event, but it has been removed.
Thom Reid says it was his third extra-terrestrial-fight, he said, twice before he was abducted from his bedroom, once in 19 and again in 1967.
Both he and his brother claim, they have faced aliens ever since. He has since moved out of the Reed area and now works with the International UFO Museum in New Mexico.
