The ‘tough decision:’ the Resin Theater Guild will be closed until January 2021

Competition – The Resin Theater Guild (RTG) Board of Directors has decided to suspend all performances and activities for the upcoming 2020/2012 season until January 2021. Private classes were held at all the main stages, Resin Children’s Theater, Jeans Jazz, Comedy Tonight, Signature Spotlight and RTG.

“Since our shutdown in March, we’ve been interacting with other theaters across the state, following industry trends, surveying our volunteers, and monitoring national, state and city guidelines to determine when and how we can reopen,” said Douglas Insance. And shared by the artistic director. “The bottom line is that the health and safety of our sponsors and volunteers will always come first, and the uncertainty of rehearsals and performances, even with limited capacity, has led us to make this difficult decision.”

A revised season, the 2020/2021 season: Act 2 will feature a restructured performance lineup and will continue to monitor RTG situations, adding additional programming if possible. The revised schedule will include:

  • “Clue: On Stage” – January 15 – 31, 2021
  • “Always Married” – February 26 – March 14, 2021
  • “Aquila and the Bee” – April 9 – 25, 2021
  • “Mama Mia!” – 14th May – 6th June, 2021

Events that were suspended, but have now been canceled:

  • Jean Jazz: Donna Udal Trio and Ivy Ford Band – Originally scheduled for March 21, 2020
  • Jean Jazz: Eric Jacobson Quintet – Originally scheduled for April 11, 2020
  • Signature Spotlight: Broadway’s Golden Age – Originally scheduled for April 18, 2020

Existing ticket holders and season customers will be rescheduled on the respective dates and will be sent direct information regarding their new tickets and season two packages.

Improvements to the health and safety benefits of virtual programming and sponsorship involving volunteer and audience members will also occur during the shutdown. Tickets and other information can be obtained at RTG’s website or by contacting the box office (262) 633-4218.
