The official Rocket League Twitter account has announced that the Rocket League will return to play starting later this summer.

The news spread this morning, where it was announced that the Rocket League would be able to play starting later this summer. However, given that there is no concrete release date at the time of writing, developer Pysonics has announced that there will be no change with the gameplay fans know and love. Also, it was announced that Rocket League would support a cross-platform between Epic Games Store and Steam.

Anyone who plays Rocket League online before the start of Free to Play will be rewarded with Legacy status, which includes:
- All Rocket League-branded DLCs have been released before playing for free
- “Approx. 20XX” is the title that shows the first year you play in the Rocket League
- 200+ generic items have been upgraded to “Legacy” quality
- Golden Cosmos Boost
- Daisy-Oro Wheels
- Huntress Player Banner
