The LG Wing update improves multitasking of the second screen

The LG Wing is a fantastic idea, but we can find some value in it now

Verizon today released a changelog for the LG Wing variant that details an update to roll out now. Most likely, this same update will soon lead to AT&T and T-Mobile versions. In our Verizon unit, the update has not yet appeared in practice, although some Reddit users have stated that it has arrived on their device.

This update brings with it almost 20 months of the November 2020 security patch (which is better than anything?) As well as two notable features and a few other tweets.

The change that LG Wing users will probably appreciate the most in this update is the ability to quickly switch applications between the main screen and smaller screen screens. This is done by toggling on a smaller display via quick settings or with a three-finger swipe from both displays. The previous LG phones used the same three-finger system that supports the company’s dualscreen accessories. The second screen can now also display media controls for apps like Netflix on the second screen.

The LG Camera app adds the ability to scan QR codes locally, though you’ll need to toggle it in the settings. The camera UI also has a new preview shortcut.
