Snow and ice warnings are in effect in several counties this morning

A snow-ice warning is in effect for several counties this morning.

More snow is expected in Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Cork, Tippery and Waterford, with Met Irenan said some areas will be frozen.

The status yellow alert will remain in effect until noon.

There are similar warnings for Antrim, Armagh, Farmanagh, Tyrone and Derry until the end of the day.

This comes after the ice / ice warning Is issued Yesterday for 18 counties

Very cold weather is expected in the rest of the Republic tonight and tonight, with maximum temperatures of only two or three degrees.

Tonight the temperature is expected to be -3 to 0 degrees lower

Rain or sleet is forecast for some snowfall over most of Munster.

Scattered wine fountains are expected elsewhere, especially in the north and west coasts.

Overnight, hot and western coastal areas are likely to receive showers as well.
