2020 is a unique year thanks to the coronavirus we are all working on new ways of living our daily lives. Lots of changes have been made to protect us from spreading the virus, from wearing our masks and avoiding social gatherings. For example, several industries have begun to operate as far away as the video game industry. Likewise, 2020 exposures, conferences and events with personal events have been canceled without doing too much.
As a result, E3 is arguably the biggest expo in the video game industry, yet, after all, the video game industry is still looking for ways to bring content to fans. Instead of big media conferences for individual events, various studios are taking to the internet with streaming shows. This eliminates the need to pay for large spaces and there are no errors or awkward breaks with most content default. Ubisoft has been doing these streaming events for the past few months which they have dubbed Ubisoft Forward.
It’s basically Ubisoft’s media conference they’ll be doing during E3 but not trying to spread all the video game announcements at just an hour-long press conference with the ability to focus around the titles of a few video games. During the latest Ubisoft Forward, we got the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake of Prince of Persia. In fact, a few returning voice actors are returning to lend their talents.
Unfortunately, fans weren’t thrilled about the visuals that were somewhat dated for today’s quality. It didn’t take long before game director Pierre Sylvain-Gears with The Mako Reactor warned fans that the visuals were specifically chosen by the developers. According to Pierre, the developers wanted something a bit more unique for fans and not something to be confused with other IPs like Assassin’s Creed.
We’re not sure if fans will be warmed by the visuals, but so far, the developers still plan to release the game on January 21, 2021. 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
