The latest build of OnePlus Launcher v4.5.6 seems to be adding more options to manage your OnePlus shelf and Google Discover feeds.
This change was introduced for the OnePlus Launcher v4.5.4 build, with a low-section shelf for those who want a shelf access panel. OnePlus Launcher V4.5.66 seems to have been added or tested to switch between the Google Discover feed and the OnePlus shelf. As far as usability changes go, it’s pretty small.
However, if you want to get all your goodies from your favorite contacts, apps, your step counters, and OnePlus shelves, it’s better than a gesture to knock.
We’re not sure if this means that the hilarious gesture has been completely removed, or if it’s another option for quick access to Google Discover feeds and OnePlus shelf feeds. With all of these things in mind, you’ll see a new fast switch action:

While it doesn’t seem to be available for all options, it is available on a few of our OnePlus 8 series devices, we don’t have the option after upgrading to OnePlus Launcher v4.5.6 in our latest version. Initially, this suggests that it can only be enabled through a server-side switch, which is not uncommon today.
Our Tipster also warns that he is revising the latest version of the Google App, which may have helped make the change, but it’s hard. For those of you who aren’t a fan of recent gestures, it seems like a great way to get a quick look at key information and news – and in one place.
Alternatively, if you’ve seen a quick insertion between Google Discover and the OnePlus shelf on your OnePlus device, please let us know in the comments below.
