Mushkir erupted in the second period to beat Sioux Falls

SIX CITY (KURTI MUSKITERS) – The second leg of the four-goal series saw the Shios City Musketeers beat rivals Six Waterfalls 2-2 on Saturday.

The only goal of the opening period came when Joel Matta played a slapshot to Gabe Blanchard, leaving behind Stumped netminer Noah Granon.

Justin Hrikovian scored twice in the first five minutes of the second half to take the lead to three. Less than a minute later, Kirklan Irie bounced off a glass of foam to give Granon a 4-0 lead. Matteo Constantini then collected a centering pass from John Fusco at the top of the crease, where he buried it behind the net in his first career USHL goal.

The Six Falls got a goal when Cole Slanger scored on the breakup, but Brian Carabes scored one of his own break break goals before the Meskatians’ answer in the third period was less than 90 seconds. JP Turner added the goal to Stampede with just over two minutes under control but it was too low, too late.

Recorded one point in eight different musketeers and four multipoint performances, Akira Schmid has already saved 21. Six City is now 9-8-1 and back in action Tuesday night to host Lincoln.
