Two years ago, Elgato always entered the homekit with its pre-branding and since then the company has never looked back. Today we got a big eve for Homekit iOS update with new long-press support, fast automation access, new icons and much more.
In the latest version of the app, Long-Press or Eve called it “Touch and Hold” support, bringing new functionality for its homekit devices, including quick control of accessories, room overview, accessory details, and automation settings / editing.
Speaking of automation, Home for Kit 4.3 provides a refresh for viewing and managing automations.
Further changes include new home color, light and new icon options for apps, as well as full support for the Eve Window Guard in Germany and enhanced support for the soon-to-arrive Eve Cam with Homekit Secure Video available for pre-order.
Homekit is now available from the App Store on the eve of version 4.3.
Full disclosure note:
Eve 4.3 is here to bring you faster access to all the powerful features of HomeKit, advanced customization options, and loads of improvements for new members of the Eve family, Eve Cam, and Eve Window Guard.

– Revised details –
As with every release, we’ve worked on all the little details that make Eve special. Just a few names:
If you have more than one homekit home, you know the pain: you often have to look twice when selecting and navigating it. Eve 4.3 makes it even easier: in addition to the custom icons already available, you can now define a color for each home in the general settings – that color will not only be used in the home switcher, but will also be used as a primary color throughout the Eve application. It has made it so easy to know who you are at home.
We’ve added a selection of icons to the app to better present you devices with lights and new icons for apps.
Full support for Eve Window Guard
Now available in Germany, the Eve Window Guard is a revolutionary communication sensor with break-in detection that is an invisible slot in your window frame. Eve 4.3 brings full support for the window guard, including tilt detection calibration and rule-making based on rule-of-law efforts. Learn more at Evehome.com/eve-window-guard
Improved support for Eve Cam
Not only have you not heard the news: we are thrilled that Evetee Cam will start shipping soon and have refined the experience further into the Evetee app. Since you have turned off all video features (for example when you’re at home) and you can use the Eve Cam as a fully featured motion sensor, a surveillance tile now displays motion status while the Eve Cam is in detection activity mode.
