Google provides its office as the COVID-19 vaccination clinic

CEO Sundar Pichai on Monday detailed a number of initiatives to help distribute the vaccine amid the ongoing epidemic. A physical effort involves including Google offices as COVID-19 vaccination sites.

To support vaccination efforts, starting in the United States, we will create the necessary Google facilities – such as buildings, parking and open spaces available as needed – to keep these sites open to everyone eligible for the vaccine based on state and local guidelines.

Google has 29 offices across the country in the United States. For many, outdoor space is ideal for social distance and is currently unused in WFH requirements from home. There are five offices in San Francisco and three in Los Angeles.

We will begin by partnering with healthcare provider One Medical and the public health authority to open sites in the Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay Area of California; Kirkland, Washington; And New York City, with plans to expand nationally. We are working with local authorities to determine when sites may open based on the availability of local vaccines.

Google’s announcement today suggested that offices in other countries could be used to administer the COVID-19 vaccine, although the company is launching Stateside. Vaccines will be administered by pubic authorities and other health providers.
