Freedom Park hosts an event on July 2 to prepare for the holiday

South Six City, Neb. (KTIV) – Sixland Freedom Park in South Six City is hosting this week’s 4th of July event in anticipation of our nation’s independence.

From Thursday, July 2, Sixlanders can come to the park to celebrate a special naming of a Nebraska highway.

The highway will be renamed for the best heroes of all time in Nebraska.

“We have the title of Nebraska Medal of Honor Highway. Which is Highway 20, but the governor has renamed the highway, the Nebraska Medal of Honor Highway. And it starts at Freedom Park, ”said Melissa Lanzourakis, a volunteer at Sixland Freedom Park.

Sixland Freedom Park South will host a drive-in movie in South Six City on July 2nd.

The gates will open at 8 a.m. for the screening of the classic film ‘The Sandalwood’.

“And it’s a fundraiser for Sixland Freedom Park. So, we’re asking for a ড 20 grant per car. And you can put as many people as you can in your car. Because of COVID we will tell people to stay in your car or in your car, ”Lanzourakis said.

Lanzorakis added that volunteers will also wear face masks.
Other events of the week include the Tenth Annual and Final Memorial Run / Walk and Silent Auction and a Firework Show starting at 11:59 p.m.
