Whitaker was the first woman to face this doctor, but as one fan noted, her congratulations “went beyond gender representation.”

He went beyond gender representation. Jody Whitaker is the right choice for the first lady in this iconic character and I hope a lot more goes her way. Taking Jodie with the doctor has brought hope, joy and much more to many people # # JodieOurDoctor pic.twitter.com/hk1oWsPS9k

Of course, there’s a big possibility that Whitaker still has more time in Tardis beyond the next series, and rumors are just that. One thing is for sure – there will be lots of frustrated fans when he leaves.
