Documents have been updated by the Riddle app for iOS with built-in VPN

Riddell’s Documents is a popular file manager application available for the iPhone and iPad that replaces Apple’s File app. The app has been updated to version 4.4 today, which brings a new built-in VPN that works not only with documents, but also with any other iOS application.

As a file manager application, Documents is an advanced solution with local folders, servers, integration with third party services and a built-in web browser. With version 7.4, the application now has its own VPN.

If you are not familiar with the term, a VPN is a virtual private network that protects your browsing and makes it difficult to track your online activities, which can be effective for public Wi-Fi networks. A VPN lets you change your location to access websites and services from other regions.

According to Riddall, more than 11 million people use the Documents app to browse the web because Safari allowed app users to download files a few years before adding this option. To make this experience even more secure, the company is launching its paid VPN service today.

Here’s how Riddle described the VPN built into the Documents app:

Enjoy your favorite movies, music and websites anywhere. Change your virtual location to access a website or application that may be restricted to you. Watch Netflix, Disney + and Hulu, listen to Pandora and enjoy many more services wherever you are.

Keep your data safe online. When you use a public Wi-Fi network, hackers can easily steal your sensitive information, such as passwords and credit card numbers. VPN encrypts your data, so you won’t get a bad look when you’re sending important emails or using internet banking at your local coffee shop.

Users will be able to subscribe to Riddle’s VPN by accessing the new VPN tab in the Documents application. There is a free trial with 50MB of data per day and you can subscribe to the unlimited plan for 12 12.49 per month or 89 89.99 per year. Once VPN is enabled, the company promises that all browsing data will be protected and the user can change its location in 2 different countries to bypass virtual geo-restrictions.

Documents by Riddle are available for free in the App Store. The application requires iPhone 11, iPod Touch or iPad to run iOS 11 or later. In a related note, the company said that the Documents app with widgets and other iOS 14 features will be updated this fall.
