Celebrities submit #StopHetFordProfit from Facebook, Instagram

Why are celebrities freezing their Instagram and Facebook accounts?

Celebrities like Katy Perry, Kim Kardashian-West and Demi Lovato are logging into their social media accounts on Wednesday (September 1) to fight the spread of misinformation and hatred on the platform.

The protest was created through the Stop Hate for Love campaign. According to their website, they want Facebook and Instagram to “stop paying for profit rather than hate, bigotry, racism, antagonism and antagonism.” Back in July, more than a thousand businesses pulled their ads from platforms to support the movement.

“The hate of constantly uploading and posting can no longer be ignored,” Lovato wrote. “All the false information spread right now is doing so much damage.”

“I love that I can communicate directly with you via Instagram and Facebook, but these platforms continue to allow hate, propaganda and misinformation – created by groups to divide and alienate America,” Kardashian-West added. .

Perry shared the same statement. “I can’t sit idly by while these platforms spread disgusting disinformation and deliberate confusion and cast a blind eye on teams and posts,” he wrote.
